So what can I recycle and where?
TV's and Computers
Under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme, companies that make and/or import more than a threshold amount of televisions and computers into Australia are required to pay for the end of life recycling of these products. There are four organisations that recycle computers and accessories under the scheme:
Telecommunication Equipment
The number of electronic and electrical components consumed by the telecommunication industry is massive. From transmitters and receivers to power amplifiers, antennas, cables, DSL equipment, satellites, telephones, mobile devices, routers, modems and mainframes. Electronic waste is responsible for 70% of the toxic chemicals such as lead, cadmium and mercury found in landfill.
