It’s a Wrap
The ACETA Industry Convention 2022
Dear Colleagues,
Much more than a positive memory, the ACETA Industry Convention, presented over the weekend of 17th-19th of June 2022, was both productive and empowering. Whilst the setting and program balance was engaging, the ‘connectedness’ of being together in common pursuits was inspirational. Participants have passed judgement and the consensus, it was dynamic, and presented as professionally as any industry event experienced anywhere. It was apparent that personal, corporate and industry development needs were met by the quality of a diverse program, a well-appointed setting, and world class catering, most conducive to a productive outcome.
From an organizational perspective most things went right given the overall intensity of the program, and this was undoubtedly due to the facilities, environment, the quality of presenters, facilitators and positive attitude of committed attendees. After the long hiatus between industry events and our convention in particular, participants were clearly looking forward to being together in a neutral, non-commercial environment, but also ready to equip themselves and their companies for change moving forward. At the closing plenary there was an instant and unanimous vote to present the fourth ACETA industry convention in 2023 and at the same venue.
One of the core aims of this year’s convention was to increase delegate participation. This was achieved by expanding the number of interactive workshops, which ultimately delivered a number of reforms, including a restructuring of membership and memberships options, all made possible by a committed and unified constituency. It is obvious that the organizational transparency and inclusion resulting from a real-time industry convention format not only delivers individual, corporate and industry development opportunity but ensures the organization remains progressive and visionary.
For me the convention brings out the best in the industry that sustains us, and it is most grounding to be with friends and colleagues both old and new, much of which provides the impetus and ideas to deal with that which lies ahead.
Thanks to all participants for the commitment and generosity of spirit
All the best
