November 2021 ACETA Newsletter
Dear Colleagues,
Whilst difficult to predict the combined impact of Covid, technological development, and changing societal attitudes on our industry’s future prospects with any surety, one thing is certain, participants will need to lift their game, change, adapt, and/or re-invent if they wish to prevail. Strategic planning is underway at ACETA, focused on embracing a new and evolving landscape, on behalf of constituents, and the industry that sustains us. The responsible path for ACETA is to influence higher standards and values, whilst delivering member benefits and opportunity. The pandemic has given cause for re-evaluation, confirming there are no rites of passage, and clarifying where we need to be. Now for a sample of what is to come from ACETA in the New Year and beyond:
Getting Connected with Industry Acquirers
By virtue of random experiences, it has been noticed that industry goods and service acquirers are taking interest in preferencing trade with the ACETA bona-fide membership. Hardly surprising, given peak bodies are a common resource for connecting acquirers with goods and service suppliers in many industries. The security of dealing with those who belong, and have declared commitment to fair and compliant trading is the compelling reason for the connection, and a landscape that will be formalised in the upcoming ACETA accreditation program, and promoted accordingly.
Therefore, it is a logical and productive strategy to present ACETA and its constituents directly to acquirers. ACETA is now developing a data base of corporate and government sector entertainment technology acquirers and will extend this further in the passage of time. Initially a complimentary publication is planned for on-line delivery on a quarterly basis to the acquirer data base, promoting the industry and its constituents. Success will be determined by the quality of content and its usefulness to those looking to acquire goods and services. Other promotional tools will be considered in due course.
Time to Celebrate a Real Industry Event
Preparations have begun for the 2022 ACETA Industry Convention with a tentative date of Friday 20th-Sunday 22nd May 2022. Whilst an individual and organisational development event, it is planned to bring associated industry peak bodies together to ensure we are united when we need to be, particularly in representations to government. This watershed weekend of work, play and development will include;
-convention, including plenaries,
-18 seminars & workshops (complimentary lunch,,morning & afternoon teas)
-archive of excellence live interview
-ACETA annual general meeting
-industry golf day (Friday morning)
-industry cocktail party (Friday evening)
-industry banquet with live music (Saturday evening)
-summit meeting of associated peak body Presidents and CEOs (Sunday)
-recreation and networking opportunities in a convivial environment
It’s a Wrap
There is so much more to talk about including upcoming Archive of Excellence interviews, government relationship management, the development of industry product compliance documents, ACETA Covid-19 policy and more. However, we determined to deliver shorter and more regular industry newsletters, selecting one or two key current initiatives, and we are bang on target this issue.
All the best
