ACETA Membership Fee Review
On approval of our constitution and consequent incorporation as a not-for-profit industry association in 2011, the membership fee was set at $1,800 per annum plus GST. In 2015 ACETA actually lowered rates for smaller companies by introducing a scaled fee structure relative to the number of individuals employed by an organization. In the meantime, associate membership was also introduced for the industry service and support sector, at a modest annual fee.
Costs have risen over the preceding decade, but more significantly in recent times. Our peak body has maintained financial equilibrium over the last 12 years by lowering operational costs whilst increasing member and industry services such as the Convention and Archive of Excellence© without impact on membership fees. Furthermore, ACETA is on the threshold of increasing member benefits, initiatives that require managing and resourcing. To maintain sustainability and remain progressive and visionary, we have no alternative but to increase our already modest member fee structure by 10%, the first increase in 12 years. In the next few days, members and associate member will be contacted advising of their new fee to take effect in 2023.
The ACETA Archive of Excellence©
A number of developments have taken place with this remarkable program that is now powering forward in the wake of the pandemic. First of all, we have increased the impact of the program by adding an Archive of Artistic Excellence section that acknowledges the sustained and demonstrable capability of musicians. Due it’s growing impact; we have copyrighted the initiative, which protects and further adds to ACETA’s growing IP register. Two new inductees have recently been added to the program which can by accessed on the ACETA web site www.aceta.org.au, and finally we have a further interview in the can, with three more booked for filming next year at the ACETA industry convention. Therefore, by May 2023 we will have 9 episodes available for viewing.
