ACETA
Enhancing Industry, Organizations and People
For any number of reasons, recent times have seen significant industry re-positioning in the entertainment technology sector, and those who ignore change, do so at their peril. ACETA is no different, as it responds to a constantly evolving landscape, and the changing nature of specific sectors. Our final board meeting for the calendar year will address change and determine priorities for 2024. But first…
Preserving the Past
Stimulation for Future Generations
On Thursday the 19th October 2023 ACETA filmed another Archive of Excellence episode in front of a live audience at the Lions Arts Factory in Adelaide, an event sponsored by Novatech. Episode ten featured an interview with Jon Lemon, one of Australia’s most acclaimed international live sound engineers, in the presence of a local audience who were joined by interstate industry visitors. A highly entertaining and informative experience was had by all, followed by a social industry get together. The episode is now live on the ACETA web site and you can access it here https://www.aceta.org.au/jon-lemon.html
Moving Forward
What to Expect in 2024
ACETA is constantly evolving and increasing its Intellectual Property to the advantage and benefit of its constituents. In the new year expanded and additional attention will be given to creating an ACETA Industry Television Channel, a home for the expanding Archive of Excellence program, but also a forum to profile members as a service to industry goods and service acquirers.
ACETA is committed to industry skills development schemes in general, along with specific training streams. An example is the recent decision to establish a sub-committee, to consider the elevation of audio engineering standards and profile. Significant background research has already been conducted and experienced support from the sector has been gratefully accepted.
In 2024 we should see the introduction of (optional) member accreditation, which by virtue of innate complexities, has taken considerable time and effort to ensure a meaningful and valuable member benefit is realised. Part of this initiative will see extended compliance guidance.
Due the positive response to the live real-time get togethers presented by ACETA to date, moving forward we are looking to present more events throughout Australia a) to create opportunities for the like-minded to network and be together, and b) to inform and spread the word. Moving forward, you can expect to see increased service and support sector attention from ACETA, a vital part of the industry that represents sustainable commercial opportunity and employment growth well into the future, but one that really highlights skills shortages throughout.
All the best
