The ACETA 2021 Convention
Stop Press 19th February 2021
Dear Colleagues,
The uncertainty of the times, and the aftermath of the recent Victorian hard 5-day lockdown, has impacted the travel plans of many individuals from all parts of Australia, including attendance at the ACETA convention next month. This reality left the ACETA Board of Management no alternative but to cancel the event scheduled for the 26-28th March 2021.
Whilst regrettable, our primary concern has to be for the well-being and comfort of all involved, but also the likelihood that in proceeding, we would be addressing a very small audience, and denying opportunity to many who wanted and needed to experience the occasion.
Therefore, to proceed would have been less than responsible, but also inequitable, bearing in mind some major initiatives and industry reform would be presented and debated, including matters related to industry-wide accreditation, skills shortage, education and mobilizing for change to name but a few. In serving the industry in the most productive manner possible, maximum input opportunity is not only fair, but delivers true industry consensus. Furthermore, the program offers a selection of invaluable personal and corporate development seminars, that must be available to all constituents, as is the opportunity to experience in person, the Archive of Excellence inductions.
The current uncertain landscape, provides no indicator as to when we can present the convention, but as soon as we can responsibly and inclusively do so, we will announce the dates. 2021 will no doubt be challenging for the majority, and we hope the convention can be delivered later in the year in support of our constituents and the broader industry.
Regardless of convention timing the same conditions will apply, including the extraordinary free delegate registration for all bona-fide members.
We apologise for any inconvenience and wish you well
On behalf of the ACETA Board of Management
Frank Hinton
President
