The ACETA 2024 End of Year Wrap
16th December 2024
More than ever, entertainment technology participants have to navigate the challenges of increased uncertainty and a culture many find frustrating, even hostile. Whilst our industry is impacted by global influences, it also confronts constantly evolving and entrenched challenges of its own. Therefore, the purpose of an industry peak body has never been more vital. It can alleviate that which undermines, provide solutions, empower, and deliver benefits not possible in isolation. In light of the current landscape, ACETA is navigating a renewal process, beginning with the board of management, mindful of our foundational values and purpose, but with a determination to increase influence. As a first step, we confirm board of management changes and advise of enhanced and more diverse new communication benefits now in train.
A Renewed Board of Management
It was agreed, the tenure of the board should align with the ACETA financial year which is 1st January to 31st December. Therefore, the current board will sit for the full calendar year in 2025. It was also agreed the ACETA board will exercise the constitutional opportunity to second additional skills to the board of management, mindful of the need for a broader representation profile. Furthermore, the board of management will meet more frequently in 2025, as will the executive, due to increased activity.
Industry and Member Communication
The monthly newsletter to the entire industry data base will continue as a Mail Chimp delivery to subscribers, purposed to present general ACETA and industry news. However, we have also determined to introduce a new member only publication, titled ‘The ACETA Members Circle’, to be delivered by personal e-mail to every member on a monthly basis commencing in January 2025. Its purpose, to present researched and collective experience responses to common business challenges, authored in a manner to assist members develop corporate policy and procedures, and as a training tool. This complimentary and focused industry advisor/consultant resource will increase awareness and eliminate the need for costly external input. The narrative in both publications will be concise and occupy around 400-450 words (one A4 page), a one minute read for a fast reader, up to two minutes for a slow reader.
Member Surveys
To establish an actionable consensus, ACETA will regularly send surveys to all members seeking input on the industry issues of the day. The first was delivered last week, focused on the current and topical industry trade event schedule, with the aim of eliciting consensus that will help us all achieve a more sustainable experience.
Wishing you all a safe and happy festive season, and be assured that together, ACETA is able to make industry participation a more rewarding experience.
