With the possibility of ACETA receiving cash grants for distribution to qualifying members (i.e export grants), the board, has introduced a necessary benefit qualifying period as follows: Regarding the receipt of government and other financial benefits for ACETA members resulting from an ACETA sponsored initiative and directed to ACETA members, an ACETA member must have been a bona-fide financial member for a period of six consecutive quarters (18 months) before the member is eligible to receive the third party financial benefit. This policy takes effect from the 1st May 2017, all other member benefits are available immediately on member application acceptance.
The incoming board will be asked to debate and ratify the following business plan, determine action responsibilities, deliverable time frames and roll-out processes:
Proposed ACETA Business Plan – 2017 / 2018
THE INAUGURAL ACETA INDUSTRY CONVENTION IS CONFIRMED
ACETA will develop the imperatives and content required to deliver a compelling and cost-effective inaugural industry convention to be held on Friday 4th through Sunday 6th May 2018. The convention will focus on individual and corporate development, balanced with an array of unique social events. For manufacturer representatives and service providers the event will address many issues including the challenges they confront in today’s borderless market environment and the questionable practises that undermine their well-being. For manufacturers, it will open doors including access to development and export assistance possibilities along with the empowering experience of shared resourcing programs. The venue and program focus will be explained at the AGM.
INITIATIVES FOR THE CREATIVE / MANUACTURING SECTOR
ACETA will finalise a strategy and commence interaction with both state and federal governments, to establish an understanding and recognition of our industry, followed by processes aimed at realising government financial and general resourcing support through the association on behalf for our creative / manufacturing sector members. Interaction has commenced at state government level to be followed by engagement with the federal government ministries of trade, industry and small business.
MEMBER ACCREDITATION and CERTIFICATION PROGRAMMES
For the product supply sector and in collaboration with the regulator, an accreditation/certification program is already well developed based around self-administration of product compliance, aimed at promoting ACETA member probity and a reliable, compliant supply chain for equipment acquirers.
For the service supply sector, work has commenced on establishing an accreditation/certification program aimed at streamlining current venue OH&S practices. This could result in the introduction of an ACETA card to the benefit of associate members (production companies and integrators etc.).
Once the accreditation/certification programmes are established they will be advertised in the relevant industry media and forums.
ACETA will maintain and aim to increase the dissemination of information by expanding the use of the forums at its disposal.
In defending the well-being of industry, ACETA will maintain a vigilance and intervene appropriately on issues that may undermine it.
The production of an impressive and extremely beneficial members guide is being delayed by a lack of response from some members, remarkable in the fact that members who promote their ACETA membership, report a positive commercial response and assistance in winning new agencies. This document therefore represents free exposure to the world and can be used to advantage in many aspects, including but not limited to sales growth, agency development and employment.
A delivery medium has been chosen and the catalogue of questions well underway to soon realise the launch of the ACETA Aptitude Test, for the use of members.
A data base containing relevant information on individuals seeking employment in the industry shall be developed and available to all members as a cost/time saving benefit and an effective way of connecting employers with suitable employees.
TRADE EVENT REFORM
Since declaring the convention initiative, commentary on the trade event calendar has abated, indicating the convention may have satisfied the actual need of many. However, ACETA will continue working towards one all-encompassing annual industry trade event, unless there is an exhibited shift in industry consensus.
We look forward to seeing you next week
All the best
