March 2025 Update
From the Managers Desk
The ACETA membership certificates are being posted tomorrow (1st April 2025) to the bona-fide ACETA cohort. The slight delay was created by the late finalization of membership, which has also delayed the issuance of the inaugural Members Circle©, that is now underway and will be distributed by e-mail shortly to members and associate members.
On the subject of members, the memberships review shall be finalized by the end of April ready for debate and action at the next board meeting. This review is considering the current industry landscape and ensuring all industry participants needs are responsibly met subject to the directions of the Constitution.
The ACETA marketing plan is also under formulation and will be presented for acceptance, to the board of management in April 2025, at which point the industry will notice an expanded peak body presence and influence that will not only benefit the organization, but all members, should they avail themselves of the resource.
Amongst a number of nominees from several sectors of our entertainment technology industry, the ACETA board reached a unanimous decision for induction into the ACETA Archive of Excellence©. Our nominee has accepted the invitation and the interview will take place in Sydney in April/May 2025, marking the 12th episode of a most valued and popular promotion of our industry and its people. Our inductee will be revealed when all the logistical details are confirmed.
The ACMA is seeking industry input on ‘the low interference potential devices class license’ due to sunset on the 1st of October 2025. Information on this will be included in the inaugural Members Circle©.
Aside from the normal everyday management issues, I am currently updating and organising the necessary artwork to formalise ACETA’s Intellectual Property, which is rather more substantial than many thought. Most of our IP is, or is suitable for copyright, and we have pursued this to protect the associations interests both now and long term and will advise in when completed.
Kind Regards
