ACETA Management Update – January 2026
We trust you had an opportunity to relax and spend time with family and friends over the festive season, and I guess some of us are now trying to shed the kilo’s gained as we get back to normal. It seems last year was good for some and difficult for others, and moving into a new year (ACETA’s 16th) we can only hope that you achieve your aims, take the opportunity to improve sustainability, and make the changes that are necessary to progress and prevail. Be assured ACETA is here, and with your support, ready and able to implement programs and increase its influence where needed given available resources.
Here’s to a rewarding new year for everyone.
ACETA was operational over the festive season, primarily attending to administrative and membership renewal activity, whilst the board of management, by necessity was in recess. In the meantime, two Archive of Excellence inductions are being prepared and details will be announced shortly. The ACETA executive (which comprises our president Frank Hinton, secretary Deborah Sloss and treasurer Mark Lownds) are in the process of assembling the board of management program for the coming year. This will include the board meeting schedule, and most likely begin with the preparation of a strategic planning day that will establish our programmes, processes, procedures and allocation of responsibilities for the year ahead, in consultation with all board members.
I can advise that the executive is keen to increase progress and elevate achievement in the new year by introducing a “let’s talk, agree and do” aspirational setting, with the emphasis on ‘do’. The proposal is to improve efficiency and reduce time wastage, including circular activity common in today’s corporate environment. Perhaps this is a proposal that any organization should consider, if they are determined to increase efficiency and improve outcomes.
In the meantime, if you aren’t already, why not consider membership in your peak body, there is no downside whatsoever, its easy, worthwhile, empowering and just simply important. For further information or to apply contact [email protected].
Have a great year
