Andrew Su presents: Foreign Currency Trade – the Inside Story

​With few or no exceptions, all in the entertainment technology industry trade regularly or at least occasionally in foreign currency, but have limited understanding of the subject matter. This seminar will reveal inside information, an introduction to the foreign exchange market, the management of your currency exposure, accessing better exchange rates, market analysis and forecasts.

Andrew has completed a Bachelor of Science(Psychology) Degree with Honours at the University of New South Wales.

Andrew started his career at the CBA in 1997 in the Executive Development Program. His first role was as an analyst for the Asian Development Group. He was involved in the bank’s strategic development for their expansion into Asia and also played a role in setting up a joint venture in Indonesia. He then had a number of different roles within CBA including, Privatization Analyst within the Corporate Finance Division and Foreign Exchange and Money Markets Dealer within the CBA Treasury Division. He was also a Management Information Systems Analyst which involved the development of systems for the processing and presentation of profitability reports.

Andrew was then appointed as Business Development Manager at CBA’s Singapore Office. This role involved managing the Bank’s Indonesian portfolio of assets as well as restructuring, recovery activities and credit committee functions. After moving away from the banking and finance sector for a few years, Andrew returned to CBA as Manager, Institutional Banking Services and Sales, Client Risk Solutions in Sydney. He was involved in developing risk management solutions for large corporations in the areas of FX, interest rates and commodities. His final role at CBA was as Vice President, Hong Kong and Singapore in the Global Markets Division.

Andrew has been an executive member and director of a number of professional, community and political organisations. He is currently a director of the Elderly Australian Chinese Homes (EACH), a charitable organization. He has lectured for the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA) in relation to Foreign Exchange. Furthermore, he has presented to Chinese Government organisations on the subject matter of the global financial crisis.
