I would now like to make a very special mention of a great friend and industry legend, Eric Robinson. Eric sadly passed away this month and he will be greatly missed by us all.
His career spanned over 40 years in the Australian music industry where he led the production and stage management of so many wonderful events, festivals and concerts, including several ARIA Awards. He was a true pioneer. As many of you know, Eric would always tell it like it is and that’s what we all loved about him.
He was an incredibly passionate, decent and loyal person, and was a very proud supporter of Australian music. Our deepest sympathies are with his amazing wife Patti and their beautiful daughter Tara.
Eric Robinson needs little introduction. A concert production pioneer according to The Music Network, and they're not wrong. CX magazine says 'the best known pioneer for Australian live production ... quickly taking the lead as the premium supplier of live audio and lighting for concerts and events' when he took over Jands, with the Mulholland brothers (Paul and David) in 1970. Tributes are flowing fast and ACETA adds our sympathies and thoughts to family and friends, and of course everyone who worked with him. Eric was just 67. Too young.
